Comberton Primary School celebrates ‘Good’ Ofsted report

Comberton Primary School have welcomed the outcome of its recent Ofsted inspection, which has officially recognised the school as ‘Good’ in all areas.

The report published today (11 February 2025) highlights the school’s caring and inclusive environment, high academic expectations, and strong personal development opportunities for pupils.

The inspection in January 2025 found that Comberton Primary School provides a happy and safe learning environment where pupils feel valued and supported.

Inspectors praised the school’s ambitious and well-structured curriculum, the strong emphasis on reading, and the commitment to enriching pupils’ experiences through a wide range of extracurricular activities.

Headteacher Mrs Deena Frost expressed pride in the report, saying: “We are thrilled with this fantastic outcome, which reflects the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our pupils, and the unwavering support from our parents and the wider community. At Comberton Primary School, we strive to provide an aspirational education that nurtures every child’s potential. This recognition from Ofsted reinforces our commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in learning.”

The report also commended the school’s work in supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring that all children can access the full curriculum and achieve their best. Inspectors noted that children in the early years receive a positive start to their education, with a strong focus on vocabulary and communication skills.

Councillor David Chambers, Cabinet Member for Education at Ƶ County Council, praised the school’s achievements: “This Ofsted report is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at Comberton Primary School. It is clear that the school provides a nurturing and high-quality education for its pupils, helping them to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.”

Comberton Primary School remains committed to building on this success and addressing the areas for further development outlined in the report, including the continued development of handwriting in the Early Years and further refining assessment strategies in some subjects.
