Today, students across the county received their GCSE results.
Early indications suggest that results have improved this year with two thirds of students achieving standard passes, a grade 4 and above, in both English and Maths.
A standard pass is equivalent to an old grade C.
46.2% achieved strong passes (a grade 5) in these two subjects. This is an improvement on outcomes for 2023.
Students in the 21 schools averaged a pass grade of 4.12 across their English Baccalaureate (EBacc) subjects and 16.2% gained strong passes in all areas of the EBacc.
Nationally, 67.6% of all entries achieved a grade 4 or above.
