Work is now complete on improvements to the busy Batchley Road/Hewell Road junction, which has seen installation of a new mini roundabout and zebra crossing.

The new mini roundabout has been installed adjacent to the junction of Batchley Road, and the zebra crossing has been added along Batchley Road.

This is one of many small infrastructure schemes being undertaken across the county to make 
local improvements to road, walking, wheeling and cycling networks.

Bromsgrove on Demand

The ´óÐãÊÓƵ on Demand bus service in Bromsgrove launched in July 2021 – one of the first of its kind in the West Midlands, racking up over 65,000 journeys .

On demand buses offer a bespoke alternative service to the familiar local bus and provide a flexible and affordable form of public transport. Passengers request a journey through the ´óÐãÊÓƵ on Demand app, and they are collected within a few metres of their location. 

The service is now planned to expand to the northeast of the county to include Wythall, Alvechurch, Stoke Pound and Stoke Prior. Journeys can also be made to destinations outside of the expansion zones including Abbey Stadium, The Jinny Ring Craft Centre and the Clent Hills.

Malvern on Demand

The ´óÐãÊÓƵ on Demand bus service in Malvern launched in 2023 – the second service in the county, following the successful launch in Bromsgrove.

On demand buses offer a bespoke alternative service to the familiar local bus and provide a flexible and affordable form of public transport. Passengers request a journey through the ´óÐãÊÓƵ on Demand app, and they are collected within a few metres of their location.

The buses provide a service for areas including Upton upon Severn, Kempsey, Hanley Swan, Hanley Castle, Longdon, Bushley and Welland. Passengers can travel to local points of interest, such as the Malvern Hills and Worcester Cathedral.
Bookings are made via the ´óÐãÊÓƵ on Demand app, which is available to download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Earlier this year, two much-loved footbridges over the canal in Droitwich received major refurbishments.

We undertook the work on the Little Hill Court and King George Playing Fields footbridges, to replace the old worn wooden decks with brand-new composite decking.

The works took place at the start of the year to take advantage of much lower use of the canal.

Plans have been submitted for the development of six new commercial buildings on Malvern Technology Park, next to the already well established Science Park. 

The application comprises 4.5 hectares of land in the eastern part of the wider site, to the southeast of Great Malvern town centre. 

The site hosts a variety of science and tech businesses and, building on its success the proposed development will bring new business and investors into the area, supporting the creation of new jobs and commercial floorspace.
