Support for SEND children, young people and their families

Support for SEND children, young people and their families

Support and help comes in many different forms.

Support and help comes in many different forms, and, particularly where services are concerned, you may not always realise they exist, or what they do or how you can access them.

We have tried to bring together all the sources of informal and formal support here, with information about what is offered along with how you can be referred.

When you are looking through the pages you will find that some services are for all disabilities, while others are geared towards offering help and support tailored to a specific special educational need or disability.

It is worth checking all the sections because often the service you may need is called something you don’t immediately recognise as being for your family. Early Help is for everyone, not just families with young children, the same is true of the Starting Well Service.

Parent carers often find their most valued support comes from other parent carers which is why it is important that we include them here too.

You will also notice that some of the services and information included here, can be found in other sections – but we feel it’s so important, we would rather include it multiple times rather than risk you not finding it.
